What I took away from the shootout was this: If you want to live your life without rocking the boat, then go ahead– America gives you that opportunity. But if you want to stand up for what you believe, if you want to enact some form of change, or if you want to resist forms of change that you believe are harmful to your country, then you need to take sides. You’re not going to persuade people without taking a hard line on the issues.
