Bill O’Reilly’s “Talking Points” for 1/29: Text Video
These celebrities are ungrateful for the prosperity that they enjoy as a result of their popularity among American citizens. They verbally attack the United States at every opportunity, but they do so without respect for our country’s military victories, without knowing how to recognize evil, and without understanding the purpose of our country’s armed forces– to protect all of us.
Celebrities: Make your movies and sing your songs– otherwise, back away from the microphone. We’re not paying to hear your political opinions.

There certanally are Celebraties who are unintelligent and celebratrities that i disagree strongly with. However As American citizens they have a right to express thier political opinion on any venue that will listen to them. The fact that thier opinions carry more wheight then the average joe is in part the fault of the American people rather then the star. Its not thier fault that a huge amount of people hang upon thier every word. But if people didnbt agree with them i would think they would stop listening. Besides there are many intelligent celebrities who make valid points and are influentail in part because of the validity of thier points. Not to mention the charity work and so on. They believe in what there saying and have a right to say it ,same as you or me. There no diffrent then anyone else and there are as many intelligent compassionate icons as there are idiotic selfish premadonna’s among them. Lets not generalize here and lets not tell them to stick to making theier movies just like i would never say that you should stick to doing whatever your job is rather then also running a blog.

Point taken.
Though, if you’ll allow me to elaborate on what I believe I meant (since I posted this entry almost a year-and-a-half ago)…
I’m directing that last line at those same celebrities who I referred to in the second paragraph — the ones who are truly ungrateful to the country that has granted them their success. Really I don’t respect their opinions, and, although they have a right to say what they want to say, it’d be best for everyone in earshot if they did just keep their mouths shut.
At a performance, the audience expects to see a good show, hear good music, etc. They don’t expect to hear political rants along the way. But celebrities exploit their venues all the time, often irritating people who would like to get away from the usual political grind and just enjoy themselves for an hour or two. One way to express disapproval at that kind of tactlessness is to avoid such performances; another way is to write about it.

Ok thats a fair thing to say. There are dfinintly celebs that have despicable views and should tout them on there own time if at all. I was just pointing out that just because there influential to many people doesnt mean that we should limit thier idiocy. Also the post had seemed a little general. Thanks for clarifying.

Yes, you’re right.
I appreciate your pointing these things out so that I can be more precise with what I’m saying.
