We live in a country that protects our speech against government infringement, regardless of whom may take offense.

We live in a country that respects religion as part of its history, but does not force a particular faith on its citizens.

We live in a country that defends its citizens, and lets its citizens defend themselves– violently, if necessary.

We live in a country that grants a hearing to anyone accused of a crime, and presumes the innocence of anyone brought to trial, until evidence proves otherwise.

We live in a country that provides basic math, science, language, and social skills to all of its citizens, regardless of their families’ income levels.

We live in a country that allows us to choose our relationships and our vocations.

We live in a country that offers us innumerable ways to entertain ourselves in our spare time.

We live in a country that measures us by our own achievements, not by those of our families or our communities.

We live in a country that entrusts us with the management of our health and our wealth.

We live in a country that enables success for those of us who are willing to take risks.

We live in a country that allows us to plan for our retirement.

We live in a country that lets us raise our children the way that we want to raise them.

We live in a country that allots each of its citizens a small share of its governing power, and allows its citizens to exercise their power on a regular basis.

We live in a country that uses its economic strength to pressure tyrannical governments and its military might to liberate oppressed peoples, so that human beings everywhere may enjoy the same freedom that we do.
