God bless the United States of America.

.
As an American conservative, I believe in — and I value, to the highest degree that I can — all of the following:

a clear distinction between right & wrong, pragmatism, morality, tradition, belief in God, Judeo-Christian values, patriotism, family, friends, personal responsibility, promises, saying what I mean, my word as my bond, optimism, the United States of America, our Constitution, capitalism, higher authority, organized religion, the Ten Commandments, prayer, childhood innocence, traditional marriage, military history, honor & duty, fighting for self-defense and liberation, dignity & decency, personal sacrifice, voluntary charity, altruism, preservation of life, classical feminism, chivalry, legal immigration, financial independence, seeing new places, following current events, politeness, patience, wisdom, temperance, acknowledging consequences, forgiveness, diversity of thought & opinion, freedom of speech, acceptance of criticism, long-term relationships, using your principles/philosophy as a guide, being proud of who you are, judgment of actions/ideas, judgment of people by God’s standard

.
And, at the same time, I disagree with — and I am staunchly opposed to — all of the following:

liberalism, socialism, communism, Marxism, Satanism, radical Islam, nearly everything Michael Moore says, nearly everything Keith Olbermann says, the notion that America is imperialist and racist, nihilism, 24/7 pacifism, “alternative lifestyles”, gay marriage, sex education for children, rap music, race-baiting, “hate crimes”, illegal immigration, abortion, non-prescription drug use, drinking to get drunk, one-night stands, selfishness, pessimism, environmental alarmism, modern feminism, affirmative action, entitlement, charity through taxes, universal health care, minimum wage laws, political opinions of musicians & actors, rudeness, male AND female chauvinism, impulsiveness, thoughtlessness, disregarding consequences, being different for the sake of being different, holding grudges, never wanting children of your own, constantly considering yourself to be a “victim”, living with your parents as an adult, moral confusion, using your heart/emotions as a guide, being proud of what you are, judgment of people by your own standard

.
This blog is an organized collection of my thoughts. Its intention is to elucidate my positions on a number of topics.  It’s proof that I haven’t fallen in line with the liberal lock-step of the modern university.  It’s confirmation that indeed I do think that the conduct of many of my peers is not only stupid, but harmful to this country and/or society at large.  It’s something my friends can read to avoid having to argue with me face-to-face, although I welcome an exchange of ideas in-person.

.
It is my hope that, although you may disagree with me on particular issues, you will see that my opinions are not based on personal prejudices nor on spur-of-the-moment feelings; they are based on years of accrued wisdom synthesized from my family, my religion, my friends, my teachers, books and articles that I’ve read, radio shows that I’ve listened to, observations I’ve made, and ideas that I’ve developed on my own.

Regardless of your political/philosophical orientation, I thank you for taking the time to read what I’ve posted.
